  Great place to get some food before or after you go to Maria Island! Started out with scallops, which were amazing. $1 each only, lightly grilled and so juicy and fresh. Then I decided to give their lobster roll ($9) a try. It was a mistake - a few small pieces of lobster, on a burger bun, with some salad and a sauce that did not go that well with the lobster. Meh. Stick to the scallops (and fried fish) if you come here!

  The Fish Van is always a must stop for me while driving between Hobart and the upper East Coast. You are always greeted with old-fashioned, country service, dished up with a smile and friendly banter. Super fresh seafood and chips at way better than over-inflated city prices. Situated in a working Marina, nautical setting, parking is plentiful, close & free. The Fish Van is food truck style dining. There's no indoor seating, so you have brave the prevailing elements. All seating is outdoors on rustic, bench-style wooden tables & chairs. So the atmosphere is the surroundings. You may have to fight off the feisty local seagulls who may try to steal your booty if you turn your back.

  great place for a stop off while driving the TAS east coast. fresh fish, cooked well. great chips. all served in a nice paper cone (huge). well worth a visit
